Traditional & Delicious Key Lime Pie!
I grew up in the valley in LA so I never had a real key lime pie growing up. When I had it I’m sure it always that stuff that looks funny because the filling came out of a can or something. It shouldn’t be green first of all lol I moved to Florida in 2004 and had my first piece of REAL key lime pie and have been a huge fan ever since. I’m not a big fan of baking but this is one of those exceptions simply because it’s so good! I make mine really tart and put real homemade whipped cream on top. I usually make my own graham cracker crust but time is of the essence here on Youtube so I cheated and bought one from the store!
Enjoy this one…and take the 20 minutes to make it yourself!
What You’ll Need & Recipe:
1 (9 inch) prepared graham cracker crust
3 cups sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup sour cream
3/4 cup key lime juice
1 tablespoon grated lime zest
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a medium bowl, combine condensed milk, sour cream, lime juice, and lime rind. Mix well and pour into graham cracker crust.
Bake in preheated oven for 5 to 8 minutes, until tiny pinhole bubbles burst on the surface of pie. DO NOT BROWN! Chill pie thoroughly before serving. Garnish with lime slices and whipped cream if desired. For all my videos checkout http://dinnerwithmariah.com
