Steak Burger with Portobello French Fries
I love a great cheese burger and my favorite food on earth is french fries. But I have recently gone low carb so today I’m going to make a cheeseburger with no bun and portobello french fries!
I take 2 pounds of ground sirloin and add red onions and capers to it. I crack and egg to bind it all together. I use my hands to mix it and make my patties, extra extra thick!
I place them on a roasting rack and put under my broiler for 7 minutes on each side until medium.
To make the fries: cut a large portobello mushroom into strips like fries. drop them into 350 degree canola oil for 9 minutes or until crispy. remove and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil and add sea salt.
for my very garlic dipping sauce I put 1/2 cup of mayo, 2 cloves of garlic and some peppercorns into my blender and whip it until it’s creamy and soooo tasty! 🙂 a great tip on melting cheese on a buger is to use a squirt bottle filled with water…have your sauce pan lid ready…squirt a shot around the burger causing a lot of steam and slam the lid on quickly! The steam will perfectly melt your cheese on your burger evenly!
Nice and thick and delicious! The fries are crispy too so it’ll kill the carb cravings! plate it and enjoy!
