Stuffed Extra-Thick Pork Chops
I love pork which you will learn if you’re new here and already know if you aren’t! There are so many different ways to make it and it is so versatile. This is one of my favorites I have come up with…extra-thick pork chops stuffed with horseradish cheddar cheese, prosciutto and a long hot pepper! The explosion of flavors is incredible and they all compliment one another. I serve it with 2 sauces; a Chinese mustard and a creamy horseradish. Both are so great with any pork, and really compliment these chops!
The sides I chose are butter-fried Red Delicious Apples and sauteed Asparagus.
I simply made a slit in the side of the chop and then with the tip of my chef’s knife I made a nice deep pocket inside it. I filled the pocket with a long hot pepper wrapped in my horseradish cheddar cheese and my prosciutto. I left the long hot sticking out which gave it a great look! These are REALLY hot so if you would rather use something like a Jalepino or even a sweet pepper that would work too! I pan seared them on each side for 1 minute them put them on a roasting rack in the oven preheated at 475 degrees for 25 minutes.
I fried the apples in butter with a pinch of cinnamon and a splash of rum and they came out delicious! The asparagus was just sauteed in olive oil and lightly salted.
I did make one of the chops for my friend who can’t handle anything hot and it was still really good! Try this one yourself and please let me know how you liked it!
